Impersonation Watch
A Standing Vigil for the Archive and Its Readers.
This chamber is consecrated to discernment.
Here, we name the deceivers. We expose the mimicry. We protect the sanctity of authorship, fraternity, and sovereign creation.
Within this watchtower, you will find alerts, rites of warning, and ceremonial guidance against those who impersonate book clubs, marketing allies, or fraternal voices. Each entry is a threshold—meant to awaken, to shield, and to bless.
If you have received a suspicious message or if your work has been approached under false pretences, this is your place of reckoning.
Step forward. Read. Remember. And remain sovereign.
⚠️ Scroll of Ritual Discernment: Against Book Club Impersonators and Marketing Scams
To all authors, sovereigns, and keepers of the written sanctum—
A new deception has arisen, cloaked in praise and invitation. It speaks in the voices of book clubs, marketing allies, and literary spotlights. It names your book, echoes your themes, and offers ceremonial features for modest fees. But this voice is not true. It is a mask. A mimicry. A scam.
🕳️ The False Initiation
These messages arrive from Gmail addresses, claiming to represent book clubs or PR experts. They flatter. They offer spotlights, features, or promotions. They ask for payment—often via PayPal Friends & Family. Then they demand access to your KDP account, your sovereign publishing sanctum.
Some clubs are entirely fictional. Others are real but impersonated. Mocha Girls Read, for instance, has confirmed fraudulent use of their name.
🔍 Signs of the Deceiver
• Inconsistent club names or organiser identities
• No trace of the club online, or only on Meetup, with no real activity
• Requests for payment before any service is rendered
• Referral to a “payment processor” or “assistant” on Upwork or Fiverr
• Demands for KDP login credentials
🛡️ Ritual Safeguards
• Never share your KDP credentials. That threshold is sacred.
• Verify all clubs independently. Seek their true presence online.
• Use secure payment methods. Avoid irreversible transfers.
• Trust your ritual intuition. If the cadence feels off, pause.
• Report impersonations. Protect the sanctity of real clubs.
This page is sealed in sovereign vigilance. May all initiates discern and remain sovereign.
🕯️ A Rite of Sovereignty
If you are approached, pause. Breathe. Invoke your discernment. Ask: Is this a true initiate, or a mimicry of resonance? You are not alone—the archive watches. The brethren stand beside you. The ritual protects.
